Gypsy Momma
by John DeCaro

Gypsy Momma, hear me call
Enshrined within your crystal ball
Tarot cards, leaves of tea,
Star-fire scarf, charm beads.
Hear not these voiceless Fates
You, Gypsy Momma, hear me
Mortal candle dribbling wax
Drowning in your lucid egg
My tongue of flame and breath of smoke
Thrash and pound against the glass
Gypsy Momma, I pray it break
Crystal ball eyes have we
With accursed gift to see and share
In flare of wick and violet air
Beelzebub's cryptic stare
Hunted by moon-bright devil eye
Confined within your crystal spy
One spell for this have I
Upon sapphire iris
I cast this spell
Flames bubble
Yolk of Hell
Swell and Swell
Phoenix of fireflies
Burst from shell
Flash of wing, break, claw
Final spell I cry
Tarot cards in hand, ignite
Leaves of tea, molten cup
Star fire scarf, hiss fire like hair
Charm, melt.
Beads, burst.
Listen now, Gypsy Momma
Tired pyre and mist of glass
All faint like fallen ash
