I believe ...

That Knowledge is imperative.
That Art is above all else.
That we live in the age of Migido,
____and we take too much for granted.
That our world is populated by awesome terrors and technologies,
____but we are beyond awe.
That for too long I have lived in a state of indulgence,
____and so I know the only honorable course open to me.
That I must help and create,
____though the world may be past help and needs not new creations.
That though I may die, death has no fear for me,
____that for one who knows reincarnation,
____it would seem that the dead live again.
And that though the prophets may be liars,
____and reincarnation a religion and not a belief,
I still control my own life,
____that there is one man who will dictate my road,
____and he is me.
And so my ideals are worth more than death.
That there is so much more I want to say,
____and little more that needs to be said.
That all writers are liars,
____as I have lied before,
____as I am lying now.
That only the Phoenix arises and does not descend,
____and everything changes,
____and nothing is truly lost.
That in just one second the stars and
____the light of the clouds at twilight
____are so great and so beautiful
____that I should drop to my knees out of reverence and awe,
____and should rise up again to my feet,
____and thank I know not what for putting me in a world full of sights
____so joyous and grand and magical.
